He was born in Sulaymaniyah and attended primary, secondary, and high school in Sulaimani. He has been interested in singing since childhood and started singing for the first time in the sixth grade of primary school. In 1992, he performed for the first time on stage with the song “Promise Me” by Mohammad Mamle.
This participation is due to the female singer Payman Omar, who was then a mountaineering teacher in the anthem lesson at the high school.
In 1997, he recorded his first album called Shawi Shadi, composed by Azad Karim and distributed by Adel Hassan.
In 2000, he recorded his second album, Yara Azizakam, composed by Azad Karim and distributed by Adel Hassan.
In 2002, he recorded his third album, Didar, composed by Ahmad Mohammed and Hersh Abdul Rahman.
In 2009, Shakhawan recorded his first CD called Farmesk.
In 2015, Shakhawan recorded another music video called (Be Wafa) composed and distributed by (Roj Karim).
Shakhawan currently (2018) has seven works and six of them have been clipped, two of which are his own music, which are (Tears, Hane Gul).
In 2009, he founded Shapol Music in Gothenburg, Sweden, with Newroz Kamal, Shakhawan Hassan, Azhin Bakr and Sirwan Amin. They celebrate Kurdish national holidays in Sweden.
This group has a good reputation because they have their own style, and mostly revive folk songs, so their parties are attended by many participants.
In 2015, Shapol Music sent the proceeds of one of their concerts back to Kurdistan for the children of martyrs in Ranya and some as aid to several poor families with martyrs in Sulaymaniyah.[1]
