He comes from West Kurdistan. He studied history and law at the University of Damascus. He went to the former Czechoslovakia in 1986 and studied directing, especially in Romanian films. He graduated with honors in 1993 and later obtained a master's degree in film and television directing.
He worked for the former Czechoslovakia's television channel. After the country was divided into two parts, he worked in the television channel of Slovakia.
Between 1990 and 1992, he appeared in several dramatic films, but since his graduation in the year 1994, he has shot more than 1,000 television reports and commercials.
He worked as the directior of the TV program Party Bubble for five years.
He is also filming another TV show called Clans and Cluria.
He is currently devoted to film and television, working as an independent director, producer and director of cinematography for Romanian documentaries.
Mano has been living in Switzerland since 1996.
He has worked as a director on 14 films so far.
His most recent films are the following: Anfal (2005), David Tulhildan (2006), My Prison, My Home (2009).
This is in addition to his current film on Swiss gardens and another feature film.
Mano's films are produced and funded by the European channels that broadcast his work.
The director's films are closely watched because of the subjects he works on.
For example, hours before the screening of David Tulhildan at the Dubai Film Festival, Turkey, through its embassy in the UAE, did not allow the film to be screened. Turkey also prevented the film from being screened at the Singapore Film Festival.[1]
