Marf Abdulqadir Marf Ahmad Agha Rasul Agha Khaznadar was born on 01-11-1930 in Erbil, capitol of South Kurdistan. He completed his primary and secondary education in Erbil and high school in Kirkuk.
His family is from Sulaymaniyah and moved to Erbil after World War I.
In 1952, he became a primary school teacher and then worked as a writer in the then Education Directorate until 1957.
In 1957, he graduated from the College of Arts in Baghdad with a bachelor's degree in Arabic and became a teacher of the Arabic language.
In March 1960, he joined the Iraqi Scientific Foundation and studied in Moscow for nine months. He then settled in St. Petersburg, where he studied Kurdish studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences at the East University of St. Petersburg.
In 1968, he became a lecturer in the Kurdish Department of Baghdad University and was elected as its head until his retirement in the year 1981.
In 1973, he received the title of Assistant Professor.
In 1979, he received the title of Professor.
In 1973, he established the Kurdish Department of the College of Education of Baghdad University.
He has worked as a writer and editor in several magazines and newspapers.
He has published 32 books in writing, translation, research and education, the most important of which is the history of Kurdish literature, which consists of seven bags.
He is a member of the Iraqi Union of Journalists.
He has been a member of the World Union of Journalists since the year 1960.
He was an active member of the Kurdistan Information Forum.
He died on 25-10-2010 in Erbil due to heart disease. [1]
