Omid Sheikh Mohammed Ismail was born in 1982 in Erbil, Kurdistan. He graduated from secondary school. He started his artistic career in 1994 with the General Union of Students. In 1995 he became a member of the Kurdish Arts and Literature Association. In 1997, he became a member of the Arts and Music Directorate of the Ministry of Culture. In 2001, he became an employee of Kurdistan Satellite Group. He has performed in many programs, concerts and special events on this television station. He has many recorded songs. He has participated in several concerts inside and outside Kurdistan as a musician with the instruments (Nay and Balaban). Together with A. A. Sagrama they have produced a music CD containing several pieces of Kurdish folk music.[1]
