Voria Ghafouri

Voria Ghafouri
Der ehemalige iranische Fußball-Teamspieler Voria Ghafouri ist nach Angaben der regierungsnahen Nachrichtenagentur Tasnim am Donnerstag verhaftet worden.
Dem 35-jährigen Verteidiger werde Propaganda gegen das iranische Politsystem sowie Beleidigung der Nationalmannschaft vorgeworfen, hieß es in dem Tasnim-Bericht. Weitere Details zur Verhaftung wurden nicht angegeben. Der iranische Fußballverband hat sich zum Bericht noch nicht geäußert.
Aus im Nationalteam nach Kritik
Der Iran-#Kurde# Ghafouri gehört seit Jahren zu den Kritikern des islamischen Systems im Iran, insbesondere im Zusammenhang mit der Diskriminierung der Frauen im Land. Wegen seiner öffentlichen politischen Äußerungen wurde er auch vergangenes Jahr von seinem Verein Esteghlal Teheran entlassen, obwohl er bei den Fans äußerst beliebt war. Er wechselte daraufhin zum südiranischen Club Foolad Khuzestan.
Auch für das Nationalteam wurde Ghafouri wegen seiner politischen Einstellung nicht mehr nominiert, obwohl er immer noch zu den besten Außenverteidigern des Landes gehört. Bei den jüngsten Protesten stellte sich Ghafouri deutlich hinter die Demonstranten und verurteilte mehrmals die brutalen Einsätze der Polizei- und Sicherheitskräfte.
Die Spieler machen sich unterdessen keine Sorgen vor möglichen Konsequenzen, nachdem sie während der Nationalhymne beim WM-Auftaktspiel gegen England geschwiegen hatten. Nein, wir stehen nicht unter Druck, sagte Stürmer Medhi Taremi am Donnerstag auf die Frage, ob die Mannschaft wegen möglicher Folgen beunruhigt sei. Das iranische Staatsfernsehen unterbrach die Übertragung. Danach gab es Spekulationen, den Spielern könnten in der Heimat Konsequenzen drohen.[1]
