He was born on 31-08-1963 in Sulaymaniyah. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Sulaymaniyah.
He later continued his studies at Kirkuk Institute of Technology. But when he was in college, the Iraq-Iran war happened. The Ba'ath regime had forcibly involved the Iraqi people in the war.
Dragging people to the battlefields and forcing them to join the People's Army became a burden on the people. University students were not spared the regime's recruitments. However, Irfan did not join the Jaish al-Shaabi (the people's army) and was expelled from the institute.
That's why he stayed in the city in hiding as a deserter for a while. After the issuance of Decrees 936 and 937 on deserters in 1988, Irfan was pardoned and resumed his studies, but this time at the Sulaymaniyah Medical Institute.
In 1990, he graduated from the institute and became a medical assistant. He got married in 1994 and has a daughter named Peyvin.
While he was a student at the institute, Irfan's literary skills became apparent, especially in the field of poetry.
He developed his literary talents with a group of other young people and soon Irfan became a talented poet.
After the uprising, he participated in dozens of literary activities, conferences and literary festivals and became one of the well-known figures of poetry and literature in Sulaymaniyah.
In 1992, he volunteered as the principal of one of the schools in the area until the education department announced that they would provide teachers for the schools themselves.
Irfan returned to Sulaymaniyah with a group of friends and family members who were volunteering together and later started working as an employee of the Japanese charity Shinaba. This time, Irfan is not working as a teacher but as a physician's assistant. As part of a medical team, they build a mobile hospital and provide medical assistance to the people of the villages around Sulaymaniyah. He continued this work from 1996 to 2003 and then went to Galawezh Cultural Center.
After joining the Galawezh Literary Foundation, Irfan became an active member of the foundation and supervised several poetry readings.
Unfortunately, after visiting Sulaymaniyah Palace Hotel on 30-07-2012 for a little rest and accommodation, he was sent to the police station in suspicious and unclear circumstances, and he died on 05-08-2012 at 3:05 pm in the intensive care unit of the emergency hospital and his body was buried in Saywan cemetery.[1]
