His full name is Rashid Ali Salih, he was born in the year 1964 in the Sarbashakh village of the Sianan area in the Kandenawa province. He is graduate of the #Erbil# Teachers Institute. In the year 1997, he moved to Sweden where he studied computer programming and eventually worked as a teacher, He started to publish his poems in the year 1989. Most of his poems have been converted into Kurdish songs. One of his poems has been converted into a Kurdish song by Zakaria Abdullah the Kurdish singer Tom Xoshnawet (I Do Not Love You) in the year 1997. Due to his weak archive, he was not able to save his poems properly and many of his poems have disappeared.
From the years 1999 to 2005, he and Zakaria were able to release several song albums, most of which were written by Shalaw, such as Bgarewa (Come Back) , Bo Pashimani (Wby are you regretful), Daya (Mother), To Hati (You Came), Basar hati Dildarim (The Tale of My Love), Saqi (Bartender), and many others.
Zakaria Abdullah due to Shalaw’s texts, he was able to achieve big success as a Kurdish artist, and he was able to put Kurdish songs on another level. Shalaw has written poems for many other singers and he has published hundreds of poems on websites and on his own website.
