He was born in Saywani neighborhood of Sulaymaniyah. He completed his primary and secondary education and the Teacher Training Institute, Department of Arabic Language in Sulaymaniyah. During his college years, he painted and played the guitar. In 1997, he moved abroad and started living in Istanbul. In 2000, he began studying flamenco guitar at the Academy of Opera in Arts department. In 2004, he graduated with honors and was sent to the Amor de Dios School in Madrid, Spain, for a masterclass in guitar playing on behalf of the same academy and the Leonardo da Vinci Project Board, an EU project.
In 2005, he returned to Istanbul and with his wife Dilek Akdeniz, a flamenco dancer, formed the Akdeniz Flamenco Group, which has performed in many concert halls, universities and festivals. In 2009, he and his wife Dilek founded a flamenco music and dance school in Ankara for both guitar and flamenco dance. Since 2013, he has returned to Sulaymaniyah and has given several concerts and workshops on guitar and flamenco style. In the same year, he founded a school called the School of Flamenco Music and Dance in Sulaymaniyah and also translated the works of the famous writer Orhan Pamuk.
