Nazim Dabagh
Biography

Nazim Dabagh
Biography

He was born in June 1948 in Koya. I completed my primary and secondary school in Koya. In September 1961, I joined the Kurdistan Students Union. In 1965, I became a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).In the academic year 1968-1970, he was in charge of the Kurdistan Students Union in Erbil and Koya.
In 1970, I graduated from primary teachers' school in Erbil. I have always worked in the cultural circle of the community. After the agreement of March 11, 1970, I was the deputy head of the Kurdistan Students Union in Koya. From 1971-1974 I was employed as a teacher in Mergasur township. We continued in the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party until the revolution started again in March 1974 and we participated in the September Revolution. In the Algiers agreement, we decided to return to Kurdistan. I became a teacher again in the primary school of Nazanin village. We continued to communicate with the Kurdish activists.
At the beginning of the establishment of the (PUK) organizations in Koya, we established contacts with martyr Dr. Khalid Boli, one of the Kurdish people's strugglers in Koya, Erbil and Sulaimani. In August 1976, I became the liaison of the Koya, Erbil and Sulaimani organizations of the PUK with the foreign leadership of the New Revolution and the Kurdistan Socialist Movement.Together with a group of Koya activists, we supervised the organizations of the PUK movement in Koya. In the case of Aziz Hussein, Mr. Mohammed Bagraz, Mr. Ali Hawez, Mr. Baqi, Mam Abdulrahman, Mohammed Tawfiq Madhat, Mr. Star, Mr. Namiq, the late Mama Abdulrahman Ruta, Martyr Shafiq Zahir, and many others.
On 08-04-1979 I was arrested by the Koya security agencies and spent 8 days in Erbil security agencies and then on 18/4-19/8/1979 in Kirkuk under torture and interrogation. In Saddam Hussein's coup against Ahmad Hassan Bakr, we were released under a general amnesty law along with a group of other political prisoners. In September 1979, at the request of the leadership of the Kurdistan Socialist Movement (KSM) and Mr. Mam Jalal, I decided to join the ranks of the revolution and the Peshmerga. On December 24, 1979, I left Koya because of mama ruta and his friends in Bastesten and Sarishma. On the morning of January 2, 1980, I arrived at the headquarters of the Kurdistan Socialist Movement in the midst of the leadership of the (PUK) and was welcomed by Comrades Jamal Agha, Ali Hawez, and a group of cadres.
In addition to them, martyrs Sharif, Mr. Hakim Omar Aziz, Mr. Handren, and Yousef were other Peshmergas, most of whom were from Koya.
In April 1980, I became a member of the leadership of the Kurdistan Socialist Movement and a member of the Organization Bureau. At that time, Mr. Salar Aziz, a member of the Political Bureau, was in charge of the Organization Bureau. I and Mr. Dr. Khader Massoum were members.[1]
