He was born in 1966 in Kirkuk. Ali Darwish entered the field of cartoons in 1992. In 1996, Darwish exhibited his cartoons for the first time in Kirkuk. The exhibition included dozens of artists, writers and intellectuals of different nationalities in Kirkuk. He came to Erbil in 1998 and lived there until 2003, when he returned to Kirkuk. He has said (It is the duty of a cartoonist to draw the red line and show the hidden things, but we have not been able to draw the red line and we are forbidden to talk about religion in cartoons).[1]
