The essay on the ancient history of the Kurds is based on the results of studies of ethnogenetic processes using the graphic-analytical method. The localization of the areas of formation of the Iranian proto-language and its primary dialects became the starting point of the search for ways of their migration of their carriers to new places of settlements. As it turned out, the restoration of these paths became possible thanks to their traces preserved in toponymy. In particular, on the territory of Europe and Asia Minor, about six hundred place names were discovered, which can be deciphered using the Kurdish language. Historical documents and data from archaeological research made it possible to explain certain patterns in the arrangement of Kurdish place names in the form of clusters and chains. The overall picture obtained was confirmed and supplemented by historical anthroponymy. As a result, it turned out that the ancestors of modern Kurds actively participated in the political events of Western and Eastern Europe from ancient centuries to the late Middle Ages, which explains some of the historical facts of this period.
