In his own words:
My full name is Muhammed Qadir Mohidin. I was born on 20-07-1946 in Goyzha neighborhood of Sulaymaniyah. I completed my primary, secondary and post-secondary education in this proud city. In 1971, I graduated from the College of Engineering of Baghdad University of Technology. In 1987, after the closure of the factory, I was transferred to the cigarette and tobacco factory. Then, in 1993, to break the economic embargo on Kurdistan, I was appointed by the Special Projects of the Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Regional Government to be a member of a committee to build a domestic refinery to refine crude oil. The main part of the refinery was designed by me and I supervised its installation. Today, this project has become a source of pride for our nation. I settled in Utah as a refugee in late 1996. After the fall of the Ba'ath regime, I returned to Kurdistan in 2004 and continued working for the General Agency for Private Projects until its dissolution.
In early 1967, I joined the ranks of Kazhik (Association of Kurdish Revival, Freedom, and Unity) and I was a member of the organization until 1975. In 1974, I joined the September Revolution. I was a Peshmerga in the Azmar forces until the end of the revolution.
I got married in 1976 and have three children: Heshoo, Blur and Bayar. I have been interested in reading Kurdish since childhood. Kurdish has been my favorite subject. This passion has led me to stop writing from time to time and publish my writings in many Kurdish magazines and newspapers. My first work was a poem entitled (Kurdish Eagle), which was published in the newspaper Hawkari No. (41) on (17-10-1970). Then I moved away from poetry and paid more attention to scientific subjects. I have published about 100 articles in Kurdish magazines and newspapers. It is worth mentioning that until 1996 I published my writings under the name of Engineer: Hama Qadir and after that year under the name of Muhammed Barzi. Along with these writings, I have seven published books, including two scientific books entitled: (Solar Energy and Steam Boiler) and five books for children, including 54 poems and several stories, most of which have been translated from English into Kurdish. I now live in the United States.[1]
