This artist, he was born in the city of #Sulaymaniyah# in the early 1930s. He showed that he had a talent for painting since his early childhood years. And to learn that art in an academic way he became a student at the Institute of Painting in the city of #Baghdad#.
In the year 1953, he was expelled from the institute for a year with several fellow students because of his political position.
In the year 1956, he graduated from the Baghdad Institute of Fine Arts and in 1963 he graduated from the theater department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. He worked as an art teacher in the schools of Sulaymaniyah for several years and he decorated several theatre plays. After completing his studies in decoration in the city of Rome, he was employed as a decorator in Baghdad television and then studied television decoration in East Germany for a year.
In the late 1950s, he participated in the establishment of the Kurdish Fine Arts Association in Sulaymaniyah and was the first to exhibit his paintings in #Erbil# in the year 1950.
Khalid Said had a special view and opinion on the art of decoration. In the field of painting, he is considered to be the first Kurdish artist to build a bridge between European and Kurdish painting and saved this important art from nature and the realism of photography. He was well-known in Italian art centers and was fluent in Kurdish, Persian, Arabic, English, German, and Italian. This artist passed away in the year 1994.[1]
