Osman Mohammed Ahmad, better known as Osman Chewar, he was born in the year 1946 in the Sarkarez neighborhood of #Sulaymaniyah# and he finished his education there and graduated from the Teachers College in 1969. He then finished the directing institute in #Baghdad# and was able to finish it with a perfect score.
During his teaching, he taught in Choman, Sharbazher, Karadagh, Halabja, and Sulaymaniyah for several years. This intellectual artist participated in political and Peshmerga activities in the early stages of the struggle. He was a political cadre in the Peshmerga forces for a while. He joined the Kurdish revolution in 1974 and worked for Voice of Kurdistan. In 1975, he was appointed in charge of school activities. Osman Chewar has participated in artistic activities since the 1960s and played a great role in the development of Kurdish theater as a theater artist and director.
His works and plays (Bryar w Anjma), (Sarin Badari), (Lanawazan), (Palto), (Ablooqa), (Khaj and Siamand), (Gulamekhak), the film (Bahashteki Sootaw) Burnt Paradise and the play (Ahay Kurno) are some examples Among the masterpieces in which the late Chewari participated.
This tireless artist also played an important role in the establishment of Kurdistan People's Television and the Kurdistan Artists Union.
In 1988, as a patriotic stand against the Ba'ath regime, he openly said to the invaders in front of the Sara Square in Sulaymaniyah: “Come and kill me, but do not genocide my people”.
Osman Chewar the great artist, who was the head of the Kurdish theater troupe Peshraw for 10 years, passed away on 21-05-1996 due to a serious illness.[1]
