His full name is Abdul Jabbar Agha Haji Mullah Abdulrahman Haji Taha Haji Abdullah Abdulqadir Agha Mohammed Agha Qarani Doghramachi was born in 1894 in Erbil. His father was a famous theologian. The Doghramachi family belongs to the Jaff princes. About four hundred years ago, two brothers from the tribe left their families and moved to Kirkuk because of inheritance problems. His elder brother, Hassan, and his younger brother, Ahmad, became apprentices to a carpenter. However, because the Jaffs traveled through the city and did not want their relatives to see them working as laborers. Therefore, they left Kirkuk and moved to Erbil and became an apprentice of another carpenter. Because of their loyalty to their work, their master gave one of his daughters to Hassan and so he settled in Erbil. Ahmed moved to Istanbul, where he became a famous carpenter called Doğramacı, which also became the nickname of his brother Hassan. Carpentry in Erbil and the Doghramachi family in Erbil all go back to Hassan the carpenter.
