He was born in 1923 in Kermanshah. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in the same city. In 1945 and 1949, he won the first place in Iran in running.
He served as the deputy and secretary-general of the Iranian Wrestling Federation for five years. Iranian wrestling was at its peak in the world and the Olympic competitions at that time. Since 1953, Behmanesh has worked as a sports journalist in Iran's leading newspapers, including Omid Iran, Federation of Nations, Trout Morning, Sports World, World of Sports, Gulbang, Newspaper, Iran Sports, Energy and Truth, and many other sports newspapers.
Kermanshahi sports writer wrote his first article about the world's ethical athlete Jesse Owens.
During his journalistic career, he attended five World Olympic Games and announced each moment and the success of the athletes live from the venue to the ears of the listeners.
These include the 1960 Olympics, Tokyo 1964, Mexico City 1968, Munich 1972, and Montreal 1976.
In 1959, when the Russian wrestling team visited Iran for a competition, Behmanesh was officially invited by Radio Tehran. And according to the analyses he did for those games Ninety percent of his predictions came true.
This collaboration with the radio continued until 1980 and then in 1996, he was invited to collaborate with the radio again.
Ata Behmanesh, a well-known journalist and analyst from Kermanshah and Iran, has written several books, including From Athens to Tokyo, Step by Step with the Spanish World Cup,
Persepolis always wins, Olympic and Iran in the Olympic Games. He is also currently writing a book called Heroes which is not finished yet.[1]
