Majid Mustafa was a prominent national, political, military, and administrative figure. He was the son of Mustafa Effendi, the son of Mahmoud Morad of Mardokh, and his family was a close associate of the Baban emirate family. He has played a prominent role in several historical stages, Majid Mustafa Mahmoud was born in 1896 in #Sulaymaniyah# and was raised in a prominent family. He is the uncle of a well-known personality (Fuad Arif).
He completed his military education in Istanbul and served as an officer on the eastern front during World War I. He was wounded in the battles of the Ottoman Empire.
He has been awarded several medals of honor for bravery. After the collapse of the Ottoman Empire in late 1919, he returned to Sulaymaniyah. He started a new phase of his political life to achieve the rights of the Kurdish people. For this purpose, he and several friends founded the Kurdistan Independence Association and worked in that association in 1920-1922.
The year the British invaded Iraq, Majorson imprisoned this young officer in Sulaymaniyah for refusing to salute him. Then he forced him to become the director of Rushdiya School in Sulaymaniyah. Majid Mustafa was also associated with the Smail Khan of Shikak's movement. In the early stages of Shaikh Mahmud's revolution, he was a loyal and well-known supporter of the late Shaikh's revolution. In 1927, he went to Baghdad with Sheikh Mahmoud and met King Faisal I together. Majid Mustafa became involved in administrative life after that period. In 1941, when the famous Iraqi army uprising broke out, he was the governor of Ammara.
He was elected to the Iraqi parliament several times as the representative of Sulaymaniyah. Majid Mustafa has always criticized the Iraqi government for its short-sighted policy towards the Kurdish issue.
In 1943, he was appointed minister for the first time in the eighth cabinet of Nuri Saeed. He has since been appointed to various ministries several times.He left political activities before July 14, 1958, and became a businessman. He died on August 2, 1974, in #Baghdad#.[1]
