I was born in 1949 to a farming family in Ankawa, Erbil. I studied in Iraq until secondary school and then graduated abroad. I come from a family of martyrs. My parents and sisters were executed by the Ba'ath regime and my brother, who was a Marxist hero, was martyred in 1988 by a group of Talabani and by Saddam's order.
In 1985, Dr. Kamal Khoshnaw and others came to me and said that Jalal Talabani had said that I should not stay here because I would be killed. I left Iraq and went to Iran. In Iran, I led an organization against the Iranian government. The government was oppressing the refugees. We burned part of the camp. There, my life was in danger. They said he was an atheist and that I did not allow people to pray. Dr. Mahmoud Sorani helped me to leave for Syria. In Syria, Ali Hawez, Dr. Kamal and others came and told me to leave because the Ba'ath Party could get to me. I bought a passport from the fascist parties and left there. I have been in Europe ever since.[1]
