His full name is Abdullah son of Haji Smail son of Ahmad, known as Mullah Mator. He was born in 1927 in the village of Hassan Balbas in the region of Kandinawa. He was educated in mosques and Hujras. As a young man, he worked at the Erbil-Kirkuk railway station. In 1950 through the efforts of Auni Yousif, he joined the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). Between 1950 and 1954, he became a prominent cadre of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. He was nicknamed Mullah Motor because he used to transport PDK publications in Karaj, Kandinawa, Dzeyati and the surrounding areas of Erbil by driving his motorcycle. He quickly established himself among the masses and his party and until 2000 he was given several party and administrative positions such as:
- In 1954, he was a member of the Erbil Regional Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
- In 1956, he was the supervisor of the PDK organizations in Mosul and Badinan.
- In 1959, he was the chairman of the preparatory committee for the fourth congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK) in Baghdad.
- In 1960, he established the National Emergency Force in Badinan to counter any enemy attack on the region.
- In 1961-1964, he appeared as a military commander of the September Revolution and participated in the battles of Erbil Plain, Khoshnawti Valley, Qaladze, Seedakan, Lolan and Khawkurk.
- In 1964, he was expelled from the central committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) along with several members of the political bureau.
- 1964-1967: Head of the Erbil Regional Committee of the Political Bureau.
- 1974-1988: He was a minister in the Iraqi government. During this time, he founded the Kurdish Revolutionary Movement in Baghdad. He retired in 1989 and lived in Erbil until his death on 24-04-2000.[1]
