Safi Hirani

Safi Hirani
Safi Hirani is Mustafa son of Abdullah son of Ali son of Mustafa Hirani. He was born in 1873 in Hirani Khoshnawti. He began writing poetry at the age of 14.
He was fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, Persian and Turkish and wrote poetry in all these languages. Safi Hirani's poems were influenced by his predecessors, especially great poets such as Nali and Kurdi.
Safi began his religious education with his father, then worked as a jurist in Koya, Erbil, Rawandz and Soran and studied with famous religious teachers of the time. He even went to Lajan and Mahabad in East Kurdistan to study jurisprudence and studied for a long time with Qazi Ali, the father of Peshawa Qazi Mohammad.
He was one of the most famous poets who combined Sufism and literature similar to Jaziri, Hariq and Mahwi.
Safi Hirani studied jurisprudence with his father Mullah Abdullah and Qazi Ali, father of Peshawa Qazi Mohammad. He went to most parts of southern and eastern Kurdistan to study jurisprudence. Safi himself and his family were religious and pious. He has a large collection of poetry in Kurdish, Arabic, Turkish and Persian. Among the poets, Kurdish artists have mostly translated his poems into songs.
He was 30 years old when his father died. He became the successor and became known as Kaka Mustafa Hidani.
He began writing poetry at the age of fourteen, but after he succeeded his father, he left the material world for the spiritual world and later became the reference point of disciples, monks and lovers of the way of worship.
He achieved high ranks through his poems full of love and mysticism.
Safi was born in 1873 in Hiran, Khoshnawti region. He died on February 12, 1942 and was buried in the grave he had dug with his own hands.[1]
