He is one of the most famous Kurdish filmmakers and directors. He was born in the summer of the year 1969 in Bana, East Kurdistan. He lived in Bana until he was 12 years old and then moved with his family to the city of Sina.
He lived in Sina until his secondary education and then went to Tehran in the year 1992 to continue his studies in the field of cinema at the University.
Bahman Qubadi introduced himself to the world of cinema, especially the outside world, with Life in the Fog and received many awards for this film. He also became one of the world's most famous directors with the feature film A Moment for the Drunken Horses. This is the first documentary in the history of Iranian cinema.
Bahman Qubadi's second feature film is Songs of My Motherland, followed by the Turtles Can Fly.
Bahman Qubadi has won several international awards, including the Cannes Prize in France.
In addition to cinema, Bahman Qubadi has studied photography as a profession and has a lot of expertise in this field.
