Fayaq Ezadi
Fayaq Ezadi
Singer, poet and joker of Mariwan: Fayaq Ezadi, son of Haji Mullah Abdullah Badalan, also known as Hama Mullah was born in 1953. He was born in Mirawa village of Mariwan, East Kurdistan.
Their family is originally from the village of Walazhir in Mariwan. His father was a mullah and therefore they migrated a lot in the villages of Mariwan and Penjwen.
Mr. Mohammed began reading basic religious books under his father's guidance and soon became interested in literature and became accustomed to writing poetry. His father, Mullah Abdullah, was a poet and gave him good guidance in writing poetry.
At the age of 16, he began his artistic career in Penjwen by singing during the March 11, 1970 holiday. According to the custom of the time, the poets competed in the festivities. In these struggles, Hama Mullah defeated all the singers of the region and the people and artists of the region proved his ability and intelligence.
The lyrics of most of his songs was composed by himself. He has performed with most of the singers of his time and they have collaborative concerts or albums.
Another aspect of Hama Mullah's reputation was his jokes, riddles and stories that he recites in the middle of his assembly songs.
He got married in 1977 and has five children. He worked as a driver most of his life and was the mullah of Chenara village in Sarshiw area for a year and a half. There, he was seriously injured in a car accident in 1989; He was unable to work and had lived with great difficulty ever since.
For many years he lived in the village of Walazhir, but spent the last two years of his life in the village of Pirsafa. Despite his poverty, he was plagued by several diseases, especially hepatitis C.
Finally, after half a century of service to Kurdish folk songs, he died at midnight on 14 May 2016 and was buried in the public cemetery of Marivan [Daseran] in the crowd of his supporters.[1]
