This leader is Qassim Shasho, nicknamed the Lion of the Mountain. He was born in the village of Rashid, near the Sharaf al-Din shrine in Mount Shingal, in 1953 .
In 1970, he joined the ranks of the Peshmerga in Mount Sinjar , as a dispatched commander. _ After the killing of the District Commissioner of Sinjar Ghanem Ahmed Al-Ali in the village of Kadri in the north of Mount sinjar, the Baathist government accused Qassem Shasho of his killing and issued a death sentence against him in absentia.
He was arrested along with his brother Qasso Shsho and his cousin Hajo Saleh in 1975. The Revolutionary Court sentenced them to 15 years in prison. Four years later, they were included in the general amnesty and released in 1979.

He immigrated to Syria at the beginning of the Iran-Iraq war in the early eighties of the last century, and at the beginning of 1982 he was chosen as the commander of the Mosul military operations by the Iraq Affairs Office in Syria. 8/24/1982 The station was bombed and more than 18 members of the People’s Army were killed and their weapons were seized, as well as other operations against
Baath party headquarters and police stations in Sinjar and Sinun .
In 1987, he was arrested on false charges in Syria and placed in Qamishlo and the Levant prison. After he stayed for two years and several months, he was released when the fighter Mam Jalal visited the Syrian President Hafez al-Assad.
In 1991 he immigrated with his family and relatives to Germany.
After the fall of the Ba'athist regime on April 9, 2003, the fighter Qassem Shaho returned to Iraq after ISIS attack on Sinjar , he formed a Yezidi military force in defense of Sinjar and also participated in all military operations against ISIS. in
Mount Sinjar
After the liberation of sinjar, Qassem Shshu became the commander-in-chief of the Yazidi forces affiliated with the Ministry of Peshmerga in Mount Şengal, and so far he has been subjected to many assassination attempts by Baath spies.
