The Yazidi author, researcher, personality, and former head of the Lalish Cultural Center, Pir Khadr Suleiman. Pir Khider Suleiman was born in the city of Sheikhan in 1952. He holds a BA in the Kurdish language. He is a writer, cultural and social figure, and an expert in the field of the Yezidi religion. He graduated from Sheikhan High School in 1970 and worked as a translator for Radio Voice of Kurdistan from 1974 to 1975 in Dohuk. In 1977 he became a Kurdish language teacher in Sheikhan. And in 1979 he became a member of the Kurdish Writers Union and from 1991 to 1997 he was the head of the Kurdish Writers Union Duhok branch. In the year 1979, he wrote the book (Ezeyati), followed by the book (Gundiati) in the year 1986, then the book (Shakhhan and Shakhhan Bahgi) with his colleague Saadullah Sheikhani in 1988, and finally the book (Safar Al-Yazidiyya) in 2010. Noting that he had sold jewelry His wife in order to print his first and second literary productions. The late had a prominent role in defending Yazidi rights during the period of the fall of the Baathist regime in 2003 and the writing phase of the new Iraqi constitution and also when he was a member of the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region in 2005 and in 1992 he became the head of the Lalish Cultural Center and until 1997 he became the head of the center Then he became a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party faction in the Kurdistan Parliament. As he was ready to stay hours with that person in order to deliver information to him, Pir Khadr Suleiman died due to illness on 11-15-2021 in the city of Dohuk.[1]
