The Al-Barazi clan is numerous in number, distributed in southeastern Turkey and in northern Syria, and it is composed of a federation of clans. The author of the book “Khalassat History of the Kurds and #Kurdistan# by his author, Muhammad Amin Zaki, mentioned that the Al-Barazi clan is a branch of the Brezanli tribe, and Al-Barazi is a branch of the Hassananlu clan, The name Al-Barazia appeared for the first time in history in the year 750 AD, and some historians say: ((It is possible that the residence of Al-Baraziah before this date was the mountains of Şengal, but it is known that they were from Kasbah Baris in the Kermanshah region). The traveler Nasir Khusraw, the author of the book Safarnama, wrote: ((They used to live in a very high mountainous area)) As for the word Barz in the Sorani dialect of the Kurdish language, it means height, and in relation to the prominence of their area of residence, the clan was called Barazi, Barzi, Barzikan, Barzini, and Barzini. The Barazia had military detachments south of the Caspian Sea, and in the year 959 AD. their Emir Hasanavi bin Hussein al-Barzikani established the Hasanawi state, and this state extended from the Caspian Sea to the region of #Kermanshah# in the south, and the existence of this state coincided with the Hamdanid state The Armenian writer Arshak Boladin mentioned in his book The Kurds that this state played a major role in spreading Islam in the Kurdish areas, and its existence continued until it was destroyed by the Seljuks in 1604 AD, and as a result a large part of the Barzikans migrated to the region (Ben Kol). Where there are their allies, and they settled in a valley there and that valley was later called Galii Brazan After a period of settling in Gali Barazan, they expanded southward until they reached Suruj in Urfa.[1] [2]
