Mohammed Sdiq Mutizadeh

Mohammed Sdiq Mutizadeh
In his own words:
My name is Mohammad Sadiq and my surname is Mufti Zadeh. I was born in 1921 in the village of Dsha in the Hawraman region of Jiwanro. My father, Mullah Abdullah Mufti, son of Mullah Mahmood, son of Mullah Mohammed, son of Mullah Ahmad the Great, belongs to the family of the mullahs of Dsha. My mother is the daughter of Sayyid Shahabuddin of Talshi and her mother is the daughter of Sheikh Osman of Tawela of Hawraman.
In the years before World War I, my father was invited to Sanandaj by the rulers of Ardalan and became a teacher at the Darul Ehsan Mosque. After a few years, he was invited to Tehran during the Qajar rule and was given the title of Mufti of Kurdistan. He returned to Sanandaj. When I was six years old, my father died in Sanandaj. My mother died five years after my father's death in Dsha. I completed my primary education in the villages of Dsha, Khanaga, and eventually the city of Sanandaj. I started studying Islamic sciences in 1936 and studied with religious scholars in Sharazoor, Marivan, Mukriyan, Penjwen, Sulaymaniyah, Kirkuk, Erbil, Rawandz, Mahabad, and Sanandaj.
The scholars with whom I studied are: Kakam Haji Mullah Khaledi Mufti, Mullah Sayyid Arif, Mullah Salihi Trifa, Sayyid Babarasuli Ababayli in Sharazoor, Mullah Baqeri Balk, Mullah Mahmoudi Daratfe in Mariwan, Mullah Ali Hamamian, Mullah Sheikh Mohammad Burhan in Mukriyan, Mullah Arif Bani La Sayyid Ali in Penjwen, Mullah Mustafa Haji, Mullah Rasul, Mullah Abdullah Bejwei in Sulaymaniyah, Mullah Azizi Shli Khanaei in Kirkuk, Mullah Saleh Dibageyi, Mullah Abubakr Effendi in Rawandz, Mullah Sadiqi Sadiqi, Mullah Hussein Majdi in Mahabad Later, the teachers of the Religious Information Committee of the Endowment signed the license for me in Sulaymaniyah after the examination. I taught in Mahabad, Sanandaj, Khoram Abad, and Tehran.
In 1962, I completed my bachelor's and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Knowledge of Tehran University. I also studied educational sciences and linguistics at the Faculty of Literature and taught in high schools in Tehran. In 1960, I became a lecturer in Kurdish language and literature at the Faculty of Literature and Humanities of Tehran University. In addition to teaching Kurdish, I also taught Persian and Arabic literature. When Tehran University was closed down in 1970 due to the Cultural Revolution, it was an opportunity for me to stay at home and finish writing the Kurdish grammar I had. However, I was writing the anthology of Mawlawi (Ma'doomi) and I am still doing so.
How did I become involved in Kurdish language and literature?
From the beginning of my intellect, I started reading Mawlawi's poems, and tried to get their meanings by family members and friends, they also encouraged me to establish a close relationship with the Kurdish language and literature.
This relationship led me to become more interested in the Kurdish language and literature during my studies in Iraqi Kurdistan. Until the outbreak of World War II, when the policy of the Turkish regime changed and Kurdish correspondence was freed in that country.
My big brother Mohammad Mehri Beg, who had taken the late martyr Sheikh Abdul Qadir Geylanizadeh from Rawandz to Istanbul before World War I (unfortunately I did not meet him), wrote me a letter in Kurdish for the first time, In his letter, he urged me not to stop serving Kurdish language and literature under any circumstances. This led me to research the Kurdish language and literature more than ever. In 1959, when the government published the Kurdistan newspaper in Tehran, I accepted the offer of its editor.
On the one hand, I considered it a great opportunity to serve the language, literature and history of our oppressed people. On the other hand, I thought that the publication of this newspaper in Kurdish was a propaganda purpose. But it was a documented arrival about the existence of the Kurdish people, language, literature and nationality.
During the years I was the editor-in-chief of Kurdistan newspaper, I wrote many articles on Kurdish literature and they were published in that newspaper.
Some of these terms are as follows:
- Collecting about 250 pieces of poems by Sayyid Abdurrahman Mawlawi from old manuscripts and correcting them and briefly explaining the meaning of the poems.

- Collection and correction of most of Wali Dewana's poems

- A brief study of the Anthology of Malaperishan and the publication of some of his poems

- Correction on Walad Khan of Goran

- Correcting some of the poems of Kanizak and Yazdarazm, which are part of the Kurdish epic by Sarhang Almas Khan of Kanula.

- A series of articles on Kurdish grammar entitled How to write and read.
- A series of articles about the life of our society and criticizing some unfavorable social ideas, beliefs, customs and laws under the title How to live in society

- Collection and correction of the divan of Mullah Hamidi Alijani in Zhawaro area

- Correction of the quarrel of heaven and earth, poem by Mirza Abdul Qadir Paveh

- Correction of the war letter Grasshopper and the White Stork, composed by Mirza Abdul Qadir Paveh

- Collecting and correcting the poetry traces of many Kurdish poets under the title of every flower garden.
- Several pieces of national and love poems and several short stories of poetry in the form of national and social satire such as the story of Mam Riwi and Papu Sulaiman and the story of Trick and Canary.

- A series of natural philosophical articles entitled The Way of God

– History of Kurdish governments.

- Correction and publication of Khana Qubadi's prayers called Haft Bandd.

All these articles are available under the title “MSM” which stands for Mohammad Siddiq Mufti Zadeh in four issues of Kurdistan newspaper.

Kurdistan newspaper was published under strict government supervision, but it did an important service to the Kurdish language, literature and history. Four years later, however, it became clear to the state that the publication of the newspaper would do nothing but harm state policy. The newspaper was closed down in early spring of 1963. In addition to my literary work in the Kurdistan newspaper, I wrote several series of literary articles on Kurdish literature and history from 1959 to the autumn of 1979, which were published on Kurdish Radio of Iran. Some of these articles have been published under the following headings:
Literary Analysis to the stories of our ancestors, literature and writers, Our Ancestor's Proverbs, Correction and writing of Nali's Anthology, a poem in the form of a Kurdish song by Mastura Ardalan, which I had obtained for the first time among the old Bayaz. Dr. Sadiq died in Tehran in January 1984 and was buried in the Wais cemetery in Kermanshah.[1]
