He was born in 1958 in Sulaymaniyah and completed his primary and secondary education in that same city. He was admitted to the Department of Physics at Sulaymaniyah University and then moved to Erbil. After a year, he was expelled from Erbil for leading the student uprising in 1982 and went to Mosul University where he completed his studies.
He was the president of the Kurdistan Islamic Union in Sulaymaniyah for 10 years and is currently the president of the United Islamic Kurdistan list in the Sulaymaniyah Provincial Council.[1]
