Roonak Raouf is the daughter of Saeed Bag son of Sulaiman Bag is from a famous family from #Sulaymaniyah# . She was born in 1942 in the Warmawa village of Darbandikhan township of Sulaymaniyah province. Because Raouf Bag his father was an employee at that time, they constantly moved around they did not stay in one place. Therefore, Roonak Khan spent her life in different parts of Kurdistan. This led her to complete her primary education in Halabja, then returned to Sulayamniayh where she attended a school of home art. At the age of seventeen, she married Judge Ahmad Haji Salih Qasim and had four children: Barham Ahmad Salih, Balen, Nakhshin, and Batin. Early in their marriage, they settled in Halabja because of the work of her husband, who was then a judge in Halabja. Roonak Raouf has been involved in political activities since her youth. She worked as a member and activist in the ranks of the Kurdistan Women's Union. later she continued her political struggle with Kurdistan Women's Union. After the liberation of South Kurdistan in 1991, she intensified her activities in the Kurdistan Women's Union, where she was a member of the secretariat and head of the social department. In 1998, she became the head of the Women's Media Center and the owner of the newspaper Zhyan (Life).
In 2001, until #13-06-2012#, she was the owner of Rewan newspaper and head of the Women's Media and Intellectual Center. As a women's rights activist and journalist, she has written many bold political and social criticisms. She passed away on #13-06-2012# .[1]
