Writer, folklorist, translator and journalist: Bahadeen Jalal Mustafa
He was born in 1954 in Hartali village of Khoshnawati region. In 1958, he moved to Qaladze and completed his six years of primary education at Assos School. In 1966, his family moved to Makhmur district due to the duty of his injured father, where he completed both secondary and high school. He was fond of reading books, newspapers and magazines since his youth. In addition to listening to Kurdish and Arabic radios in Iraq and other countries, he also enjoyed translating from Kurdish to Arabic and vice versa.
After completing his literary high school diploma, he went to Baghdad to study college. Initially, he wanted to be admitted to the English department, but was not admitted due to lack of nine marks. He was even admitted to Arabic, History, Geography, Persian, Russian, French, Media and many other departments besides English. In 1973, he was admitted to the Kurdish Department of the College of Literature of Baghdad University. In 1976, he graduated from the college.
He was in contact with many writers, poets and journalists in this department. He was able to develop his writing talent. He published his first article in the second grade of the Kurdish department in March 1974 in the newspaper Hawkari. In 1974, when he was a student at the College of Arts, after Kurdish Radio Baghdad, formerly part of Radio of Republic of Iraq, expanded and its broadcast was increased to 20 hours and became a directorate, they needed an announcer and translator For eight years from 1974 to 1982, he hosted dozens of programs, including Good Morning and A Journey to the Diverse World.
As an actor, he has appeared in several acting story series.
In 1983, he was transferred to the Ministry of Education and became a secondary school teacher in Makhmur district. He became the assistant principal of the secondary school and was the principal of the same school from 1987 to 1990. In 1991, after the uprising, he moved to Erbil due to the deteriorating political situation.
In 1997, he was transferred to the office of the Ministry of Education, where he worked in the media of the minister's office. In 2006, he was transferred to the office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources. He remained in the ministry until 2018, when he retired on 01-08-2018.[1]
