Born in 1968. In 1989, he graduated from Istanbul University of Political Sciences and was appointed as a research specialist at the Turkish Police Academy. In 1992, he obtained a master's degree in communications from the University of Nottingham. He later received his doctorate from the University of Manchester. Since then, Idris Bal has been working in Turkey with research and books on the Kurdish issue in Turkey and the Middle East. He is currently a teacher at the country's police academy.[1]
