Friedhof Kilyos

Friedhof Kilyos
Ende 2017 ordnete die türkische Regierung die Verwüstung des Gefallenenfriedhofs Garzan an und verschleppte die sterblichen Überreste von hunderten Guerillakämpfern nach Istanbul. Dort wurden sie in Plastikboxen unter einem Gehweg begraben.
Im Dezember 2017 ordnete der türkische Staat die Zerstörung des Gefallenenfriedhofs Garzan in der nordkurdischen Provinz #Bedlîs# (Bitlis) an. Die Ruhestätte lag in der Nähe des Dorfes Oleka Jor (Yukarı Ölek), begraben waren dort hunderte Mitglieder der kurdischen Guerillaorganisationen HPG und YJA-Star sowie der YPG und YPJ. Ihre Leichname wurden nach der Zerstörung des Friedhofs auf Anweisung der Staatsanwaltschaft Istanbul exhumiert und in die dortige Gerichtsmedizin verschleppt. Anschließend wurden sie auf dem jüdischen Friedhof Kilyos unweit des gleichnamigen Badeortes am europäischen Eingang des Bosporus begraben. In einem Abschnitt für „Tote ohne Namen“.

Bisher ging man davon aus, dass die Leichen von 267 gefallenen Kämpferinnen und Kämpfern, die in Garzan begraben worden waren, von türkischen Sicherheitskräften exhumiert und nach Istanbul verschleppt wurden. Nach Recherchen der Nachrichtenagentur Mezopotamya (MA) handelte es sich sogar um die sterblichen Überreste von 282 Menschen. Nur 21 Leichname wurden danach den Angehörigen übergeben. Die Leichen von 261 Gefallenen befinden sich nach wie vor in Kilyos unter der Erde. Allerdings nicht in regulären Gräbern, sondern in Plastikboxen verpackt und aufeinandergestapelt unter einem Gehweg.
Der Respekt vor der Totenruhe ist einer der grundlegenden Werte der Menschheit. Die Würde des Menschen wirkt über dessen Tod hinaus. Für die AKP/MHP-Regierung, die nicht müde wird, sogar die Toten der Kurden zu bekämpfen, scheint dies ein Fremdwort zu sein. Aufnahmen, die jüngst von MA veröffentlicht wurden, zeigen das ganze Ausmaß des abscheulichen Umgangs mit den Leichen der in Kilyos begrabenen Kämpferinnen und Kämpfer. In einigen Boxen verstaute man gleich die Knochen von mehreren Toten.
Am Donnerstag fand auf dem Friedhof Kilyos eine Mahnwache des Istanbuler Provinzverbands der Demokratischen Partei der Völker (HDP) statt, an der sich auch Mitglieder von Anyakay, einem Solidaritätsverein für Familien aus Anatolien, die Angehörige verloren haben, beteiligten. Erdal Avcı, der Ko-Vorsitzende der HDP in Istanbul, sagte in einer kurzen Ansprache: „Grab- und Kultstätten sind die ältesten Zeugnisse menschlicher Zivilisation. Die Störung der Totenruhe und eine entwürdigende Behandlung von Leichen ist ein der Menschheit unwürdiges Verbrechen. Der Umgang mit den Toten aus Garzan, die hier in Kilyos unter einem Gehweg begraben wurden, ist respektlos und abscheulich und spiegelt die Mentalität des Feindrechts wider. Wir fordern, dass die Angriffe auf unsere Toten und ihre Ruhestätten endlich ein Ende finden.“[1]
