Physician and politician Aras Haso Mirkhan Ghazali, also known as Dr. Aras, was a delegate to the eleventh (1993) and twelfth (1999) congresses and in 2010 he was elected as a member of the leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in the thirteenth congress.
He was born in 1968 in Sulaymaniyah. He received his bachelor's degree in 1993, his master's degree in 1996 and his doctorate in pharmacy in 1998 from Isfahan University in Iran. In 2009, he obtained a master's degree in management from the Lebanese-French University in #Erbil# . In 2000-2001, he was the Director General of Culture and Information of the Peshmerga Ministry in the fourth cabinet. In 2002-2011, he was the Director General of the Supervision and Finance Bureau of the Kurdistan Regional Government. He is fluent in Kurdish, Persian, Turkish and English.

Aras Haso Mirkhan fled to Iran with his family in 1975 after the collapse of the September Revolution. In 1982 he joined the Kurdistan Students Union and in 1988 he joined the Kurdistan Peshmerga Forces.
In 1995, he became the commander of the Martyr Ali Hasso Battalion and was wounded in the battle of Qasre in Erbil province. In 1997, he was wounded for the second time in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in the region of Amedi, Duhok province. In 2014, he participated in the fight against ISIS forces in the Gower-Makhmur front in Erbil province.
During his career in the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), he received several positions and responsibilities, such as: Head of the University Regional Committee of the Political Bureau among refugee students of Iranian universities and colleges (1990). , Deputy Head of the Peshmerga Organization Bureau (1998-2000), Member of the Bureau in the Office of the President (2000-2010).
