His full name is Khidr Hamad Khidr. He was born in 1961 in Khanaqa neighborhood of #Erbil#. He studied until the fifth grade of primary school in Soran school in Erbil. He sang anthems and songs on Thursdays to raise the flag with the help of his teacher Cheto Hassan, who played accordion for him, in 1973, he went to Haji Omeran with his sister's family to study there. He was displaced to Iran with the collapse of the September Revolution. He spent his life in exile in Zewa camp and completed the sixth grade of primary school. In 1976, he returned to Iraq. At that time, the Ba'ath regime did not count those who returned from Iran as a year of study and reduced their classes. Khidr Khoshnaw dropped out of school and started working as a blacksmith. In 1978, he became interested in art and singing. In 1980, he joined the army. In 1982, he married and had three sons and five daughters. In 1984, he recorded the song “Ay Dil Yar Royi” for Kirkuk TV with the Kurdish Arts and Literature Association/Erbil. He performed weekly in Baghdad with the Kurdish Arts and Literature Association in the 1980s and with artists (Karim Bayaz and Parwin Shazada). Then he continues to develop his national artistic abilities. After the uprising, he played an important role in the revolutionary art by recording many anthems and songs. The artist has been interested in raising birds and poultry since childhood. Artist (Khidr Khoshnaw) was a member of the Erbil National Arts Troupe, a member of the Executive Committee of the Kurdish Arts and Literature Society of Erbil General Headquarters. Unfortunately, on #27-08-2020# he passed away due to coronavirus in Western Erbil Emergency Hospital and was buried in Sheikh Ahmad Cemetery in Erbil.
