#Raman Salah# is the Kurdish Language lead at Respond Crisis Translation. He joined Respond as a translator in December 2021. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies of the Middle East at Freie Universität Berlin. His mother tongue is Kurdish. In his homeland, he worked as a research assistant and taught in a high school. Raman also gained experience as a hospital interpreter in India, where he pursued his B.A and M.A in English Language and Literature. During his studies, he focused on translation, culture, art studies, and Indian literature in English translation. He worked as a reintegration officer in two different programmes, migration for development and reintegration in Başûrê Kurdistanê. His current field of study centres around Kurdish Studies (Kurdology). In his free time, he enjoys playing music, reading books, and hiking. His languages include Central Kurdish (Sorani), Northern Kurdish (Kurmanji), Farsi, Dari, and Arabic. He has also acquired basic spoken Hindi and is currently learning German.[1]
