He is originally from Sanandaj of eastern part of Kurdistan.
He joined the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in 1999 after the arrest of Abdullah Ocalan.
He was one of the founders of the Kurdistan Freedom Life Party (PJAK) in the PKK in early 2000. He later participated in all PJAK congresses and became a coordination member and played an active role in the party.
In the 2010 congress of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Biryar Gabar became a member of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (KJK) and headed the mass organizations department of the KJK.
At the last PKK congress, Gabar became a member of the presidential office.[1]
