He was born in the year 1971 in the city of #Sanandaj#. He has worked as an assistant director and stage manager in short films and the famous films of the great Kurdish director Bahman Ghobadi, including the movies “When Horses Get Drunk”, the movie “Songs of My Motherland”, the movie “Turtles Fly” and the movie “Half Moon” and also he has assisted in several other short films by Bahman Ghobadi.
Omed Rastbin has made several short films and television series, including the cartoon short film Wahdat in the year 1994 which means Union, the short film Ganjshkk in the year 1995 which means the sparrow, and the short film Shkrat Khdaya which means Thank God in the year 1976, experimental short film Tangna in 1997, story short film My Pigeon in 1998, documentary short film Dilgash about Faranji in the year 2001, documentary short film Awat about the wedding of Pir Shalyar in the year 2002, the Kurdish dance television series broadcast on Kurdistan Satellite in 2006, and the short documentary film about the life and the biography of the famous Kurdish poet “Mah Ardalan(the moon of ardalan)” which is the famous Kurdish poet “Mastura Ardalan.
Omed Rastbin has worked as an assistant director with many Kurdish and Iranian directors. His latest work was as an assistant director in the film Tired Footsteps directed by Kurdish filmmaker Ibrahim Saeedi. It was filmed in the autumn and winter of 2008 in the city of #Chamchamal# of Kurdistan Region by the famous Iranian photographer Bayram Fazli.[1]
