Omed Ashna was born in the year 1955 in the city of SulaymaniyahSulaymaniyah
to an intellectual and religious family. Between the years 1978/1979 he graduated from the Teacher Training Institute in Erbil, and worked as a teacher in Qaradagh, Dukan, Darbandikhan, and then in Sulaymaniyah. Since the year 1978, he has been a member of the Kurdish Writers Union. He retired in the year 1994 at his own request so that he could serve in the field of correction and collecting literary and cultural works of the Kurdish nation. He passed away in 2000. Master Omed had a literary project called the One Hundred Kurdish Books Project. He was able to publish about 70 books and pamphlets of the project, but in small numbers due to financial inability. He left behind a lot of literary wealth, but most of them are handwritten. He passed away on 16-01-200016-01-2000
at the age of 45 when he was completely absorbed in his literary works and was buried in Saywan Hill in Sulaymaniyah. Not only that, but he left behind numerous manuscripts and three children named (Siamand, Saya, and Shad).
