Yasin Darbandi was born on #14-05-1976# in #Erbil#, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. He was born in Darbandi Gomespane village of Pirmam township of Shaqlawa township of Erbil. His nickname (Derbandi) comes from his grandfather's village.
At the age of 15, he became a Peshmerga in the ranks of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) in 1992. He participated in the training course on the 14/5 mm machine gun and passed with an excellent grade. In 1994 he became a 14/5 and 12/5 mm cannon fighter. In 1995 he was promoted to sector commander. In 1996 he was promoted to brigade commander. At the age of 22, he was appointed commander of the first force of the commander of Koya.
In early 1999, he participated in the military course in the military college (Qalachualan) on 18-08-1999 and graduated with the rank of lieutenant. In 2001, he was appointed as the deputy commander of the army in Koya.
On 04-12-2001 he participated in the promotion course in the military college (Qalachualan) on (16-07-2002) he completed the course with good grades and was given the rank of lieutenant In 2005, he became the deputy commander of the first battalion of Koya. On 01-04-2006, he became a sergeant and on 21-03-2011, he became a Lieutenant Colonel. On 16-20-2015, he was transferred from the 126th Brigade of Koya to the 114th Brigade of Kirkuk as a battalion commander (3) of the 114th Brigade will serve until the end of the war against ISIS terrorists. On 21-03-2015, he was promoted to Colonel.
Yasin Darbandi was wounded twice during his Peshmerga career. His biography shows that he received all military and Peshmerga ranks during the wars as a Peshmarga of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the wars to protect the achievements of the Kurdistan Regional Government and Kurdish territory. He is the third battalion of the 114th Brigade of the Peshmerga forces.[1]
