The Regional Policy Dialogue with Legislators from South-Eastern Europe—and selected neighbouring countries—on the Prosecution, Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Foreign Terrorist Fighters will facilitate the exchange of critical experience and lessons learned while also raising legislators’ awareness of relevant international standards in this context.

The event will focus on the challenges related to the effective implementation of relevant international standards, as well as on shaping human rights-compliant legislation, institutions and procedures to deal with the return or repatriation of foreign terrorist fights and their family members.

The event will provide an opportunity to share lessons learned on how to secure adequate evidence for the successful prosecution of terrorists, the effectiveness of current rehabilitation programmes for convicted terrorists, as well as the existence of reintegration programmes specifically designed for women and children.[1]
