Son of Abdulkarim Effendi, son of Abdullah Agha Gurjizadeh. He was born in 1912 in Erbil.
His father was a civil servant during the Ottoman period who worked in different places, and so Khairullah Abdulkarim who lived with his father, lived in many places during his childhood. After the end of World War I, he had the opportunity to study. After finishing his studies in Erbil, he was transferred to the Baghdad Teachers' College and later worked as a teacher in Koya, Chamchamal and Shaqlawa for five years.
It was during this period that he demonstrated his artistic abilities, especially in the fields of theater, music and painting.
His passion for completing his studies and developing his skills led him to become a student at a military school in Baghdad and two years later he was promoted to the rank of officer in the Iraqi army.
During his studies he visited Egypt and gained extensive expertise in military affairs.
Martyr Khairullah joined the Hiwa Party as a patriotic Kurd and actively carried out his duties within the party.
In 1945, he moved to Mahabad and devoted all his abilities and expertise to serve the Kurdistan Republic.
He served as an armored officer in the forces of the Republic of Mahabad for a year and a half and showed great courage in the defensive battles. Therefore, the Mahabad government awarded him the Bravery Award and promoted him to the rank of Colonel. After the collapse of the Mahabad Republic, Khairullah returned to South Kurdistan with the amnesty of the Iraqi government, but was immediately arrested and sentenced to death along with the martyrs Mustafa Khoshnaw, Mohammad Qudsi and Izzat Abdulaziz.
He was executed on June 19, 1947 and the body of martyr Khairullah was buried in Erbil as one of the greatest martyrs of the path of freedom of Kurdistan.[1]
