Omar Osman Ibrahim general and politician, also known as Mullazm Ali and Zaim Ali, joined the PDK in 1962. He attended the ninth congress in (1979), the tenth congress in (1989), the eleventh congress in (1993), and the twelfth congress (in 1999). He was elected as a member of the Central Committee and later as a member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). In 2010, he was re-elected as a member of the political bureau by the leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) at the 13th congress. He was appointed Minister of Peshmerga Affairs in the third (1996) and fourth (1999) cabinets. Zaim Ali is the holder of the late Barzani Medal. Zaim Ali was born in 1949 in Erbil. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Erbil. In 1970, he was admitted to the Baghdad Military College on the list of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). In 1972, he obtained a bachelor's degree in military science with the rank of second lieutenant. In 2005, he became military advisor to Iraqi President Jalal Talabani (1933-2017). He was appointed Minister of Peshmerga Affairs in the third (1996) and fourth (1999) cabinets. He is fluent in Kurdish, Arabic and Persian.

Zaim Ali joined the ranks of the PDK in 1962. In 1974, he was the commander of the Peshmergas of the Balakaity region. In 1975, after the collapse of the September Revolution, he fled to Iran as a refugee. In 1976, he fled to the Syrian Arab Republic and in 1977 as a commander he goes to the freed areas of the Gulan Revolution.

During his career in the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), he received several positions and responsibilities, such as Head of the Second Branch Committee (1983), and Member of the Military Leadership Committee of the Jud Front Forces (1983). He was one of the commanders of the Khawkurk legend (1988), the first head of the first branch committee (1989), the head of the military department of the PDK (1990), the head of the ninth branch committee (1993) the head of the second branch committee (2000)...
He participated in the Kurdistan Uprising in 1991 and became the Minister of Peshmerga Affairs in the third (1996) and fourth (1999) cabinets. In 2007, he was a member of the General Command of the Kurdistan Peshmerga Forces.
In 2010, he was awarded the Immortal Barzani Medal by President Massoud Barzani for his services in the September Revolution, May Revolution, South Kurdistan Uprising and Sovereignty Period.[1]
